Guernsey Hedgehog Rescue Centre
HEDGEHOG STORIES: LOUISE
Louise is a hoglet that was brought into the centre on 23 November 2005. She was suffering from severe mange, was dehydrated, lethargic and very cold. Her spines were laying flat against her body which is a sign that a hedgehog is very ill. She weighed only 314 grams.

We immediately began treatment on Louise’s mange and she was put on a heat pad. We also wormed her (every hedgehog that comes through the centre is routinely wormed).

It took Louise a long time to recover. She was fully recovered by January when she then hibernated until the end of February. Louise is now ready to go to a new home.
