HEDGEHOG STORIES: LOLLYPOP
Lollypop was found in Les Genats Estate. She weighed 540g and had mange, a fractured foot and was very dehydrated.
Lollypop was given medication to kill the mange mites. Then she was given a bath in a special shampoo to help remove the crusty mange growth on her body. She was dried and put into her cage where food and water were available. To keep her warm a heat pad was placed under her bedding.
After a few days Lollypop began to recover and now much of the crust has fallen away, her fur is growing back and her fractured foot is healing nicely. She is happily eating all her food at night and now weighs 600g. If she continues to make good progress and put on weight it will not be too long before she will be able to be returned to the wild close to where she was found.
