Guernsey Hedgehog Rescue Centre
HEDGEHOG STORIES: BRAMBLE
Bramble is a young female hoglet who was brought into the centre in a very sorry state. She had chronic maggot infestation down both her ears and an open chest wound which was also infested with maggots. She also had flyblow and flies on her and a heavy flea presence. She weighed just 105g and for the first couple of days we had to bottle feed her.

Despite this and after a lot of care Bramble is now on the road to recovery. She is lapping on her own and now weighs 110g. She will be with us until she is the correct weight to release. If the weather remains good we will release her when she is over 500g. If the weather takes a turn for the worse we will wait until she is 650g.
