Bobby was found on 3rd November by one of the volunteers that help out at the centre. It was obvious to her that Bobby was suffering from a severe case of mange so she immediately brought him into the centre.
Upon arrival at the centre we set to work treating Bobby by injecting him with a drug to kill the mange mites, applying tea tree cream to loosen the mange on him and spraying him with Aloe Vera spray to alleviate the itching. We also wormed Bobby (as we routinely do with all hedgehogs that pass through the centre). The one thing we weren’t concerned about was Bobby’s weight; he weighed a very healthy 1,084 grams when he arrived at the centre!
When Bobby is fully recovered he will be released back into wild near the area where he was found.
