Hedgehogs have bright dark brown eyes that protrude slightly. Their vision is poor, and they cannot see in colour.
HOW TO TELL IF A HEDGEHOG
IS HEALTHY OR SICK
Below are a couple of 'tips' for telling if a hedgehog is healthy or sick.
If you are unsure if a hedgehog is healthy or sick, secure it, then contact the centre immediately.
The Shape of a Hedgehog
When picked up a healthy hedgehog will roll into a '
round
' ball shape.
When picked up a dehydrated hedgehog will roll into an
oblong
shape.
The Spines on a Hedgehog
The spines on a healthy hedgehog will '
stick up
'.
The spines on a sick hedgehog will lie
flat
on its body.
