HOW TO TELL IF A HEDGEHOG IS HEALTHY OR SICK Below are a couple of 'tips' for telling if a hedgehog is healthy or sick. If you are unsure if a hedgehog is healthy or sick, secure it, then contact the centre immediately. The Shape of a Hedgehog When picked up a healthy hedgehog will roll into a 'round' ball shape. When picked up a dehydrated hedgehog will roll into an oblong shape. The Spines on a Hedgehog The spines on a healthy hedgehog will 'stick up'.
